What it is like to live with

Potentially the market’s bargain, but the 622 km figure needs independent testing. For a couple it fits; the dog and camping gear are the constraint.

What works

Exceptional headline range

Turnkey company price

V2L, 360° camera and familiar controls

What irritates

Smaller boot for a large dog

150 kW is only average

Brand-new generation with no long-term data

Family + dog

Measure before buying

437 L. For a large dog, the usable shape, underfloor space and luggage separation matter more than the headline litre figure.

Trips + camping

Capable, with trade-offs

10–80% in 35 min. Home charging covers normal Portuguese use; motorway efficiency and the charging curve decide how relaxed France or Italy feels.

Car and Driver

A new Mitsubishi EV previews more of the LEAF platform

The prototype drive covers the Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback, which is built on the redesigned LEAF platform and uses a 75-kWh battery. Its quiet ride, regenerative-braking choices and charging hardware offer useful clues, but the final European LEAF remains the model that must be tested directly.
