Full review

What it is like to live with

This is the trio's luxury-first answer. It is spacious and exceptionally quiet, with enough charging performance for Europe, but buyers pay for the cabin theatre and comfort before adding options.

What works

Refined ride and quiet cabin

Large frunk and useful boot

713 km WLTP and fast 800 V charging

What irritates

€78k before desirable options

Hyperscreen dominates the experience

Heavier and longer than its direct rivals

Family + dog

Luxury comfort with separated storage

The 570-litre boot suits a large dog, while the unusually large 128-litre frunk keeps cables and smaller luggage out of the main compartment.

Trips + camping

Excellent European touring, limited campsite utility

A 666–713 km WLTP range, quiet ride and fast 800-volt charging favour long journeys; there is no strong V2L proposition at the destination.

City + daily life · 3.5/5

The longest of the matched German trio

Cameras and assistance systems help, but 4.845 metres of length and 1.913 metres of width still demand a suitable garage.

Cargo · 4.5/5

The trio's best front-and-rear storage split

A 570-litre boot plus 128-litre frunk separate work equipment, charging cables and business luggage unusually well.

Taxi + high mileage · 4.4/5

Outstanding chauffeur comfort at a high price

Passenger refinement and charging speed are excellent, while the €78,000 starting point makes mainstream TVDE economics unrealistic.

Details worth knowing

Three useful fun facts

  1. 01

Its 128 L frunk is unusually large for a premium European SUV.

  2. 02

Under ideal conditions, Mercedes says ten minutes of rapid charging can add up to 303 km of WLTP range.

  3. 03

The head- and tail-lights repeat the Mercedes three-pointed star motif.
