Full review

What it is like to live with

The EX30 combines a small-car footprint with the battery and charging performance of a larger crossover. It is quick, quiet and easy to place in Portuguese cities, but families should test the rear seat, boot and screen-led controls before buying.

What works

Only 4.23 m long and easy to park

475 km WLTP and 175 kW rapid charging

Strong safety technology and Google services

What irritates

Tight rear legroom and modest main boot

Most controls live in the central screen

Check the VIN for completion of any battery recall work

Family + dog

Best for a small dog or occasional pet travel

The upright hatch helps, but the 318-litre main boot and tight rear bench mean a large crate, passengers and holiday luggage cannot comfortably coexist.

Trips + camping

Small outside, credible beyond Portugal

A 475 km WLTP range, 175 kW charging and 1,600 kg towing capacity make the Long Range far more travel-capable than most city EVs; cabin and cargo space remain the limiting factors.

City + daily life · 4.8/5

A premium EV sized for Portuguese streets

At 4.23 metres long, with light controls, an 11-metre turning circle and useful cameras, the EX30 is notably easier to park than family crossovers without feeling like a budget city car.

Cargo · 3.2/5

Strong performance, modest working volume

The 61-litre underfloor compartment keeps cables away from the main load area, but local businesses carrying boxes or equipment will outgrow the 318-litre boot quickly.

Taxi + high mileage · 3.9/5

Efficient city shuttle, limited airport car

Range, charging and compact dimensions suit urban mileage, while tight rear legroom and limited luggage space make it a weak fit for airport transfers or full-time ride-hailing.

Details worth knowing

Three useful fun facts

  1. 01

A single dashboard soundbar replaces multiple door speakers, reducing wiring and material use.

  2. 02

Its door-opening alert can warn occupants about cyclists approaching from behind.

  3. 03

Despite its 4.23 m length, the P5 Long Range can tow up to 1,600 kg when correctly equipped.

Owner case highlights why recall completion matters

A recent owner case describes the disruption caused by a battery-recall charging limit and other faults. It does not represent every EX30, but it reinforces the need to confirm by VIN that all applicable campaign work is complete before buying used or taking delivery.
